Dunham STEM Partnership School Parent MeetingReunión Informativa de Padres para la Escuela Asociada STEM de Dunham

Eight seats are available next year for incoming EASD 131 third-grade students at the John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School.

The STEM School is part of the Aurora University campus and specializes in science, technology, engineering, and math. The STEM School serves 200 students in grades 3 through 8 from four area school districts, including East Aurora School District 131, Indian Prairie 204, West Aurora 129 and Batavia 101.

This opportunity is for students with an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. It is not solely for gifted students—any student with a passion for these subjects is encouraged to apply.

Parent Information Meeting

Parents can learn more about the John C. Dunham STEM School by attending a Parent Information Meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, at the Aurora University Banquet Hall, 1410 Marseillaise Place, Aurora, IL 60506.

Application Process

Parents of incoming third-grade students who wish to apply for one of the eight available seats should complete (online) the 2019-20 STEM “Parent or Third Adult Survey” application. This Survey will be available online immediately following the February 27 Parent Meeting.

The online Survey must be completed by 3:00 p.m. on March 11, 2019. Surveys received after this date/time will not be accepted.

A lottery for the eight available seats will be held on March 21. On April 5, the school district will send letters to parents notifying them their child was selected for the school, or that their child is on the wait list.

Hay ocho puestos disponibles el próximo año en la Escuela Asociada STEM de John C. Dunham para estudiantes del Distrito 131 de East Aurora que entraran al 3er grado.

La Escuela Asociada STEM es parte del complejo de la Universidad de Aurora y se especializa en ciencias, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas. Atiende a estudiantes de tercer a octavo grado del Distrito Escolar de East Aurora 131, así como los distritos escolares Indian Prairie 204, West Aurora 129 y Batavia 101.

Reunión Informativa de Padres

Los padres pueden conocer más sobre la Escuela Asociada STEM de John C. Dunham asistiendo a una Reunión Informativa de Padres de 6 a 8 p.m. el miércoles, 27 de febrero, en el Salón de Banquetes de la Universidad de Aurora, 1410 Marseillaise Place, Aurora, IL 60506.

Proceso de Solicitud

Los padres de estudiantes que entraran al 3er grado que desean solicitar uno de los 8 puestos disponibles deben completar (por internet) la Solicitud “2019-20 STEM “Encuesta Padre o Tercer Adulto”. Esta encuesta estará disponible en línea inmediatamente después de la Reunión de Padres el 27 de febrero.

La Encuesta en línea debe completarse a las 3:00 p.m. el 11 de marzo de 2019. Encuestas que se reciban después de esta fecha/hora no se aceptarán.

El 21 de marzo se realizará una lotería para los ocho puestos disponibles. El 5 de abril, el distrito escolar enviara cartas a los padres notificándoles que su hijo(a) ha sido elegido(a) para asistir a la Escuela Asociada, o que su hijo(a) está en la lista de espera.
